History
After years of preparation, I.L.T.I. launched its three-year seminary level training course in January 1991. The goal of this course was to provide quality practical and academic training for those who in some way were unable to attend traditional seminaries. We purposely constructed and designed our course so that it would be versatile enough for use in any geopolitical setting. Gaining worldwide acceptance the course quickly spread to nineteen countries in its first year. By 1994, I.L.T.I. had been introduced to twenty-six countries. By the year 2002, the program was in more than eighty countries worldwide. To be more internationally accessible, I.L.T.I. moved its international office from the United States to Thailand in 2003.
In August of 2005, a flash flood completely inundated the I.L.T.I. International Office, destroying our ministry's records. We decided that as we were reconstructing our records and reestablishing contacts, we would use this opportunity to conduct an in-depth evaluation of our operations. So in 2006 we began conducting the ILTI-15 Year Evaluation. (I.L.T.I. was first released in 1991)
Once the evaluation was complete, the Board of Directors reviewed it and found it contained many surprises. The evaluation revealed several weaknesses in our program. However, before the Board decided any action they ordered us to evaluate the topics in our existing course structure to determine if and how we should revise them.[see link to Perceived Strengths and Weaknesses as Revealed by the ILTI 15-Year Evaluation]
After thoroughly reviewing the ILTI-15 Year Evaluation, and our subsequent critique of the existing I.L.T.I. material, the Board of Directors decided that I.L.T.I. should implement major changes to its existing course structure and adapt a new and unique approach toward seminar training.[See link to A Unique Approach to Seminary Training]
